Brittney Penrod - Director of Program Development

Brittney Penrod was born and raised in Hartville, Ohio, where she attended Marlington Schools. From a young age, she found joy in music, playing guitar, and singing. She pursued her passion for service by attending the police academy in Ohio, which led to a career in law enforcement. As a Stark Park Ranger, Brittney not only patrolled and protected local parks but also took on a leadership role in developing and managing the department’s Explorers Program—an initiative designed to mentor and prepare young individuals interested in careers in law enforcement.

In 2017, Brittney relocated to Upstate South Carolina with her husband, Jordan, taking a well-earned summer to enjoy life on the lake before returning to her calling in law enforcement. Since then, she has served in various capacities, including as a patrol officer, detective, and currently as a School Resource Officer (SRO). Her experience in law enforcement, particularly her work with youth and community engagement, has given her a unique perspective on the importance of mentorship, guidance, and early intervention—principles that align perfectly with Big Bro Lil Bro’s mission.

As an integral part of the organization, Brittney helps develop and enhance the program by creating mentorship strategies, refining outreach initiatives, and working directly with mentees to provide them with the structure and support they need. Her experience in leading youth programs, combined with her deep understanding of the challenges young men face, allows her to bring valuable insight into the program’s growth. She actively collaborates with the leadership team to shape workshops, mentorship training, and community involvement efforts, ensuring that Big Bro Lil Bro continues to be a beacon of support for at-risk young men.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Brittney cherishes time with her family, enjoying outdoor adventures such as hiking and spending time on the lake. A devoted follower of Christ, she is passionate about guiding others on their journey to salvation and leads her family in faith through daily biblical teachings. Her unwavering commitment to serving both her community and her faith makes her a powerful force in shaping the next generation through Big Bro Lil Bro.
